this much I know to be true
On October 7 Hamas initiated a massacre of innocent Israelis living in nearby kibbutz and attending a concert. With that event, they proved the maxim: War is Hell. The consequences of hell cascade relentlessly on everyone in the area and beyond. Yet, it also true that the horrors of hell do not fall equally on everyone. The hunger and sickness of innocent people Gaza is hellish. I want Israel to bring more food and supplies to them. NOW. The hoarding of food aid and medical supplies by Hamas, as well as violent intimidation, is well-documented by Gazans. It’s despicable. I want it to stop.
I have many opinions, but no solutions. My entire life various Presidents, leaders and diplomats have been trying to find a way to peace in the Middle East. War is hell.
Yet, this much I know to be true: the murder of a couple will not “free, free Palestine.” A friend of mine wrote:
Yaron Lischinsky, z”l, and Sarah Milgrim , z”l, were murdered outside the Capital Jewish Museum. They had been attending an event for young diplomats, both Jewish and non-Jewish, to talk about bridge-building in the Middle East and North Africa region. They were Jewish seekers of peace and some form of an alliance for a new day.
They were not targeted because they happen to work for the Israeli embassy. They were targeted because the terrorist believed that they were Jews. In front of a Jewish organization.
This is what “globalize the intifada” means.
